Choosing a home sauna
Find the right sauna for your home
Start with where it will live. Our indoor saunas fit a spare room, a garage or a large bathroom, and our outdoor saunas are built to stand in the garden all year. Not sure yet? Browse all our home saunas in one place.
Then think about who will use it. Couples tend to choose one of our saunas for two. Families usually want room for three or four, and our larger saunas for five or six suit anyone who likes to host.
Setting a budget? Our guide to what a home sauna costs covers the full price, not just the kit, and the sauna buying guide walks you through the rest of the decision.
Why sauna? Good for the mind and body
66%
lower risk of developing dementia*
65%
lower risk of developing Alzheimer's disease*
48%
lower risk of fatal coronary heart disease*
About these figures
*All three figures come from the Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease (KIHD) study at the University of Eastern Finland, which followed more than 2,300 middle-aged Finnish men for around 20 years. Compared with a single weekly visit, using a sauna 4 to 7 times a week was associated with a 66% lower risk of dementia and a 65% lower risk of Alzheimer’s disease (Laukkanen et al., Age and Ageing, 2017), and a 48% lower risk of fatal coronary heart disease (Laukkanen et al., JAMA Internal Medicine, 2015). These are observational findings in one population. Encouraging, not a promise, and no substitute for medical advice.
