Home sauna FAQs
Price depends on the range, size and heater you choose. Every model on this page shows its price, and the heater options and control panel are priced separately in the Recommended configuration on each product page. An indoor sauna needs no groundwork and fits a spare room, large bathroom, garage or basement. An outdoor sauna becomes a feature of the garden but needs a prepared base and clear access for the build. Our sauna buying guide walks through the decision in full.
A traditional sauna heats the air with a stove and stones, reaching 70 to 90°C, and you can pour water over the stones for steam. An infrared sauna warms your body directly, so the cabin stays at 45 to 60°C while you still sweat deeply. See our infrared vs traditional comparison.
Most indoor Traditional models are sauna kits and assemble in a few hours. Outdoor saunas can be assembled yourself or built by your Hekla stockist, and need a prepared base and one metre of clear space on all sides before build day.
Most garden saunas fall under permitted development in the UK, but it depends on size, height, siting and any restrictions on your property such as a conservation area or listed building. Check with your local planning authority before you order.
Our indoor saunas and garden cabins are lined in thermally modified aspen. Our cube and barrel saunas are built from thermally modified spruce, with aspen benches and floors. The garden cabins have a weatherproof black WPC shell. Read more about Thermo-Aspen and why we build with it.

We sell through independent stockists, so you can sit in a Hekla and talk it through with someone who installs them. Your stockist can deliver the sauna and build an outdoor model for you, or you can assemble it yourself.
Every Hekla has Thermo-Aspen benches, and every model is ETL listed and CE marked.
