Home sauna FAQs
Price depends on the range, size and heater you choose. Every model on this page shows its price, and the heater options and control panel are priced separately in the Recommended configuration on each product page. Running costs are a separate question, covered in our guide to sauna running costs.
An indoor sauna needs no groundwork and fits a spare room, large bathroom, garage or basement. An outdoor sauna becomes a feature of the garden but needs a prepared base and clear access for our build team. Our sauna buying guide walks through the decision in full.
A traditional sauna heats the air with a stove and stones, reaching 70 to 90°C, and you can pour water over the stones for steam. An infrared sauna warms your body directly, so the cabin stays at 45 to 60°C while you still sweat deeply. See our infrared vs traditional comparison.
Most indoor Traditional models are quick-build and assemble in a few hours. Outdoor saunas are built on site by our own trained team, and need a prepared base and one metre of clear space on all sides before build day.
Most garden saunas fall under permitted development in the UK, but it depends on size, height, siting and any restrictions on your property such as a conservation area or listed building. Check with your local planning authority before you order.
Our cabins are lined in thermally modified aspen, with thermally modified spruce staves on the barrel saunas and a weatherproof black WPC shell on the garden cabins. Read more about Thermo-Aspen and why we build with it.
